Reflections of an Empty Vessel captures two of my favourite things to paint - glass and afternoon sun. I find the reflections and patterns created by these coloured vessels both incredibly beautiful and challenging to paint.

The title is a somewhat tongue in cheek reference to my own struggle to find more meaning in my work. Quite often I paint pretty things simply because they are pretty.
