The name says it all. Sunny afternoons, and a bottle shared with a friend, what’s not to love?!
When ‘researching’ for this exhibition I had the pleasure of visiting Pinelli Estate wines, a family run winery who have been making wine in the Swan Valley area since 1955. As well as their award winning wines the family also produce their own olive oil.
I loved learning about the history of the estate, which speaks to the rich legacy of migrant families. It’s a familiar tale to me, having grown up in wine country, many miles away.
The regions may have been different, but the stories are shared, that of hard working families, building better lives for themselves. This painting is an ode to that common history.
